Cedar Waxwings on Birch Tree Textured Acrylic Original Painting

One of my memories of childhood is the flocks of Cedar and Bohemian Waxwings that would flood our Mountain Ash tree by out house in Saskatchewan.. I loved the pretty muted birds with the POP of color... The sweet sounds they made... I was inspired to paint them because of their simple beauty... We don't see them here in Ontario..

Remembering "The Autograph Book" ~ School Days of Yesterday

What ever happened to the ever popular
AUTOGRAPH BOOK?

I remember as a teen clamouring to get all the
"popular people" to sign my book.
I still have my old Autograph Book with those precious
signiatures and sayings..
Like my favorite..

"By Hook or By Crook ..
I will be the last
to Write in your Book!"

wanting to make sure I beat anyone
else out for the last page..
I even have my Mothers Autograph Book with a
dear insert from my Grandmother
wishing her a Happy Birthday..

Both are gone now..
and I have these precious memories...

"I dip my pen into the ink And grasp your album tight,
But to save my life I can’t think one single word to write
But if writing in album would prove a friend secure
I’ll with pleasure write my name in yours."

I can't think of a better gift to give..
